Person. Commander James Bond is part of the elite Double-O section of the British Secret Intelligence Service, or the MI6. As Agent #007, Commander Bond reports to and receives his missions directly from M, head of the MI6. His 00 status grants him a discretionary license to kill---but James Bond's definition of "discretion" differs from others'. In spite of the impact he makes on people and their property while on the field, Commander Bond is recognized, often reluctantly, as one of the best field agents of the MI6.

Appearance. Caucasian male in his early 40’s. 6'2". Lean, almost thin frame. Wavy, dark brown hair. Thick, dark brown eyebrows. Small gray eyes. Long, straight nose, quite triangular in profile. Has a diagonal scar on his upper right arm and a circular scar on his left shoulder blade. He speaks with a deep, regal, authoritative voice with a smoker's grit--and the grit of a man who hasn't lived an easy life (audio sample here). Unless he's coming in from HQ, he is probably not wearing a suit. Unless he's coming in from a casino, he is probably not wearing a tux. He is more than likely wearing a buttoned down shirt or polo with slacks. He also is more than likely wearing a Walther PPK concealed under his left armpit in a leather shoulder holster.

Personality. Sociable but secretive. Though he often receives looks or comments of recognition, he continues to lie about his profession and downplay his skills. He asks more questions than he (truthfully) answers. With women he (usually) is polite, gentlemanly, and (highly) flirtatious. Women are his biggest vice, right with cigarettes and alcohol. He has a dry sense of humor. Sarcastic. He tends to portray himself to the unknowing as a relaxed, fun-loving person, but he is all too familiar with the bad side of life and isn't quite as cheerful as he seems.

History/Backstory. Note: To save myself from explaining how Bond has the characteristics of a Time Lord without actually being one, I will assume that all EON Bonds (Connery, Lazenby, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan and Craig) have separate continuities and backstories, and, in many cases, have gone through the adapted Ian Fleming stories differently from how these stories were depicted on screen. This Bond, based on Timothy Dalton's portrayal of the character in The Living Daylights and Licence to Kill, has gone through all the Fleming novels in a manner closer to the content of the novels than the films in adherence to Dalton's more book-reliant interpretation of Bond. He also has a slightly different backstory than the literary Bond, given that he is not in his 60's in either of the aforementioned Dalton films (though he still would be very hot if he were 60 and played by Timothy Dalton).

OOC Note: Daniel Craig was the original PB for this journal. As a result, the default icon is of a Daniel Craig promotional photograph. Craig's Bond is now the secondary PB for this character. Timothy Dalton is the main. The Dalton and Craig Bonds are two separate characters. Their continuities both in canon and in RP do not overlap. If your character has met the Daniel Craig Bond, they will not recognize the Timothy Dalton Bond as the same man, nor will the Timothy Dalton Bond have any recollection of past encounters with your pup if your pup has spoken to the Daniel Craig Bond. I may also play other Bonds from time to time. The rule still applies: unless otherwise noted (i.e. a specific Bond has been made to look like another for shits and giggles), all Bonds are separate characters and will not have the same in-game, or the exact in-canon, experiences as the other Bonds.
